Police send in street cleaners to our sleeping pitch
I took this photo of our sleeping pitch last night at 9.30pm. We had just arrived at the pitch situated on a derelict highwalk at the back of Salters' Hall in the City of London. On 21 July two police officers from Bishopsgate Police Station (PC 361CP and PC 399CP) threatened us with street cleaners, but it never occurred to us that this threat could be delivered before we arrive, by drowning the pitch with gallons of heavy duty deep cleaning product.
We were trying to extract the sticky soap for almost an hour, eventually bedding down on damp stone (here's a good photo of how we look bedded down). This morning at 6.30am, seconds before leaving, there was still slippery product on the floor:
I took this photo yesterday morning and it shows the porch in perfect working order.
