Last night we were woken by a police officer accompanied by two street cleaners. I was certain the officer (PC 632CP) was going to ask us to move out of the porch so the cleaners could drown it with some deep cleaning product (see blog of 30 July, Police send in street cleaners to our sleeping pitch), but it didn't happen. Perhaps it was just a threat; why otherwise would a police officer be accompanied by two street cleaners on a highwalk? Well, at least I caught this photograph for the record:

In the blog of 1 August I published Declan's judicial review pre-action letter to the Commissioner of Police for the City of London and Home Secretary. Technically Declan can file for judicial review tomorrow, having waited 14 days for a response that has not come. A few hours after I posted Declan's pre-action letter, we came back to a rough sleeping pitch drenched with diesel (see yesterday's blog, City of London Police: Declan's facts to be relied on for judicial review). Last night it was the tiny public garden around the corner from our sleeping pitch that got vandalised. For more than three months now we have been using this garden to sit out at night, and knew that this was a stitch up for a serious complaint and another police stop/search in the middle of the night, even a hosing by street cleaners. Within the last couple of weeks we have not only had our sleeping pitch drenched with diesel, but it has been drowned with gallons of heavy duty deep cleaning product.

A few hours after I published Declan's judicial review Letter before claim to the Commissioner of Police for the City of London and the Home Secretary in the previous blog, we arrived at our sleeping pitch on a derelict St Alphage Highwalk at the back of Salters' Hall in the City of London only to find what smelt like fresh diesel splashed from one end of the porch to another. Three days ago it was gallons of heavy duty deep cleaning product (see blog Police send in street cleaners to our sleeping pitch), which was equally difficult to remove. City of London Police Commissioner Adrian Leppard has 14 days to answer Declan's pre-action letter so we are braced for what is in store for us over the next couple of weeks in particular.
