Complaint of discrimination against Newham Council: Letter to Newham Council CEO Kim Bromley-Derry for Declan's next updated complaint to the United Nations
RE: Newham Council
Complaint about staff misconduct amounting to a breach of the equality legislation.
To the Chief Executive of Newham Council, Kim Bromley-Derry:
30 September 2016
Dear Mr Bromley-Derry,
Please accept this letter as a formal complaint of discrimination against Newham Council arising from the handling of my application by Newham Council on a befriending scheme.
On 27 September 2016, in the absence of a referral to the Equality and Human Rights Commission by my local MP, Lyn Brown, I applied to the Commission for an investigation into the Council and its actions.
Details of the case and the impact it has had on me can be found in the enclosed email correspondence of 29 September and 7 September, addressed to Newham Councillor James Beckles and Communities Secretary Sajid Javid respectively.
I believe the Council's actions amount to a breach of the equality legislation. I would therefore like the authority's Monitoring Officer to investigate my complaint with a view to resolving the issue I have raised.
Yours sincerely,
Declan Heavey
